Journey into Mystery Sketchbook Pt. 2

Journey into Mystery

If Marvel keeps posting them, I’ll keep posting them!  There are more Journey into Mystery sketches out today, and I’m loving where they are going.

I can’t wait to see the title turn into giant monster vs. the city!

Journey into Mystery Sketchbook

Gomdulla sketch by Valerio Schiti

A reboot, of sorts, of Journey into Mystery is underway, and Marvel has posted a sketchbook of some of the monsters on their site.  These Atlas Era comics (a term that I read for the first time a few days ago, and then had explained to me by my knowledgeable friend at the local comic shop) feature some hilariously huge but really endearing monsters that were often found on the cover stomping mud holes into the asses of large metropolitan areas.  The book gave birth to Thor though and soon it was taken over by the character.  This sketch book does look to lean a little further towards the creature feature side though.  I’m pretty interested to see where they are going to take it, considering the amazing history that the title has, what with being at issue #649.

Check out the sketch book on Marvel’s site.
